Little Wizard Stories of Oz is a series of six short stories written for young children by L. Frank Baum, the creator of the Oz books. The six stories were published in separate booklets, "Oz books in miniature," in 1913 and then in a collected edition in 1914. Each booklet is 29 pages long and printed in blue ink instead of black.
The stories were part of a project by Baum and his publisher Reilly & Britton, revitalize and continue the series of Oz books that Baum had written to that date. The story collection is actually five tenths Oz books by Baum.
Baum had tried the Oz series with the sixth book, The Emerald City of Oz (1910) to terminate, in the last chapter of that book he completed the Land Oz from the outside world. He started an art book with The Sea Fairies (1911) and Sky Island (1912). He also commented on his 1911 bankruptcy by increasing his literary production, he produced five books that year, his biggest output since 1907. Baum tried two other young new series to launch in 1911, with The Daring Twins released under his own name, and The Flying Girl, under his "Edith Van Dyne" pseudonym.
Unfortunately, none of the new series as successful as the previous Baum and Van The series of Oz books and Dyne Aunt Jane's nieces. Disappointing sales through 1911 and 1912 convinced Baum Reilly & Britton, and that a return to Oz was needed. Baum wrote The Patchwork Girl from Oz for a 1913 release, and the same year his publisher issued the Little Wizard stories of six individual booklets (price, $ 0.15 each). The goal was the youngest beginning readers to reach them and create a greater interest in the Oz canon, as part of a "promotion of L. Frank Baum and his books."

The stories have a charm and simplicity that is suitable for the intended audience. In the first selection, the Cowardly Lion and the hungry tiger frustrated by their domestic routine monitoring Ozma's throne in the Emerald City, they decide to go out and fulfill their dark desires. The Lion will attack a man and make "him to chop Suey." The Tiger longs His appetite for long-denied Fat babies happy. In the end, both cats discover they can not bring themselves to hurt anyone.
(The story "Little Dorothy and Toto" contains a curious property. The Wizard is playing a trick on Dorothy to teach her "that is really dangerous for a little girl wandering alone in a fairytale land." This warning is very different from the independent spirit that Dorothy appears in The Wizard of Oz, and Baum seems to invite the entire Oz series. It seems clear that Baum was thinking of the smallest readers when he wrote this story.)
The strategy of achieving beginning readers was successful enough for Reilly & Britton repeat within a few years. The publisher released selections of L. Frank Baum's Juvenile Speaker (1910) into six smaller books called The Snuggle Tales of 191,617, and again as the Oz-Man Tales in 1920.
Four of the little magician Stories were reissued in 1932 in a new form, such as The Little Books in Oz Oz jigsaw puzzles. A year or two later, the four stories were re-released as part of a promotion for a Wizard of Oz radio program (sponsored by Jell-O). Rand McNally the six stories in three books published in 1939.

When does the Wizard of Oz Barbie Pink Label winkie guard and the winged monkey come out?
It is my understanding that they are released in 2007 and they are supposed to be a KB Toys exclusive, but I've also heard they were sold at Wal-Mart at the end of 2006.
