Winnie the Pooh – A Story Bears
Winnie-the-Pooh is a popular children's character created by author AA Milne. The image of Pooh plush bear is used for toys, clothes and even animated movies. Many people do not Winnie-the-Pooh was actually based on a real bear named "Winnipeg", his son Christopher Milne liked very much. It is a touching story that the hearts and minds of many people trapped after the First World War.
Christopher Robin Milne often went to see a Canadian black bear named Winnie at London Zoo. The bear was originally given to the Zoo on a long loan basis by Harry Colebourn. Lieutenant Colebourn was headed for England at the moment to share to participate in the First World War, when he bought the bear from a hunter for $ 20 in White River, Ontario, who had just caught and slain his mother.
He named the bear "Winnie" after his hometown Winnipeg, Canada. Winnipeg the bear became very popular with soldiers of the 2nd Canadian Infantry Brigade and traveled with them as their mascot. When they arrived in England it was clear that Winnipeg would not be able to support the Infantry Brigade continue as they had to move to France. Harry Colebourn took the bear to the Zoological Gardens in London, so they could look after while he was gone. In 1919 he returned to collect the bear and realized that they become very popular with staff and visitors, so he decided to donate the bear to the zoo. Winnie the bear was a popular attraction at London Zoo until he died in 1934.
Christopher Robin Milne Winnie first saw on a trip to the zoo in 1924 and actually spent time with him in the bear cage. This experience clearly had a major influence on Christopher and Winnie went back to visit on many occasions, which led to AA Milne keeping a diary of visiting the bear with his son. The journal entries also other popular characters from the books as Eyeore, Tigger, Kanga and Roo, his son plush toys were. Other characters in the books, such as Rabbit and Owl were based on animals of Milne's country estate.
A young artist by the name of Ernest Shepard created the illustrations for the books that were inspired by AA Milne's journal entries. The first was called "Winnie-the-Pooh" in print was on October 14, 1926. A second book was released in 1928 called "The House at Pooh Corner". However, poems and verses about the bear can be found in other children's books called "When We Were Very Young" in 1924 and "Now we are Six 'in 1927, which were also written by AA Milne and illustrated by Ernest Shepard. All stories held in Ashdown Forest, which was on and around Milne's estate in Sussex.
A big fan of Winnie-the-Pooh books Milne, Walt Disney, the first animated theatrical featurette from the famous bear and his heroic deeds in 1966 the name "Winnie the Pooh and the Honey Tree. It was at this time the lines were dropped from the name. Other films were made including "Pooh's Grand Adventure" in 1997 and "The Tigger Movie" in 2000. In 2003, "Piglet's Big Movie" was also released, followed by "Pooh's Heffalump movie" in 2005. In fact, a whole new full length animated Winnie the Pooh movie in production and scheduled for release in 2011.
Winnie the Pooh Bear or Edwards as it sometimes is known as the Pooh part took its name from a swan that Milne's son once met on holiday. However, in the first chapter of "Winnie-the-Pooh" Milne does offer an explanation of his own why the bear is sometimes called simply "Pooh".
"But his arms were so stiff … they stayed upright in the air for more than one week, and whenever a fly came and settled on his nose he had to blow it off. And I think – But I'm not sure – that is why he always called Pooh. "
Today, Winnie the Pooh remains one of the most moving and beloved children's characters and has become a truly global brand selling books, title = "cuddly toy"> plush toys and other merchandise.
