Polar Princess – Moosonee River to James Bay, Canada
Today is Canada Day. The 140th anniversary of Canada is Canada today and treat it as the Fourth of July in the United States., Like they should.
Breakfast was to be available at 6:30. We were there with the rest of the guests 7. For there was a light rain, the owner drove us into his truck, a pickup, so he had three trips to deliver to us all. My wife and I went first. Our luggage was left on the bed and breakfast to be delivered to the station at 5 this evening.
Polar Princess, operated by two Bay Tours, departs at 8. After our tickets were exchanged for a boarding pass we were ready to on board. * Rachel, guide, took a couple of pictures of us on the wharf by boat in sight. Polar Princess is 65 meters long, 100 passengers. Today, only 13. A good song is a lot of space. There are maps of the river, so we can see the route to the mouth of the River Moosonee, at the entrance of James Bay. We have around, as a larger boat is needed for a special license to travel in the bay.
Departure was at 7:50 am, after all guests on board. Seats were a stand-style table between the two seats, as in a restaurant. On our return we saw a movie. Try and guess the title available at the end. The river is mostly trees with a few beach areas. The water is brown or brackish. There is a community in Moosonee and Moose Factory on an island. Moosonee has a population of approximately 3000 and approximately 85% Cree. Moose Factory, on the island, has a population around 2500, mostly Cree. The High School and a small school located in Moosonee, while the hospital in Moose Factory. I did not learn why it is a factory mentioned, but the island was where the first white men settled, establishing trade with the Cree, First Nation people of the area. One fact really fascinated me. After "freezing" begins in November the river is frozen by Christmas so that traffic, including trucks, to ride on the River. This is difficult for me to believe, but the river is currently at least four feet of ice, enough to support traffic.
On the bed and breakfast were We are told that a river of ice extending about 300 miles north can easily travel to that area. They add about a foot of water to the ice road to make a frozen road bed. During the winter they can make deliveries to the north on this road. Last winter the area received only a few inches of snow. Low humidity makes the cold feel less extreme when the temperature drops to -40 "C". I've learned that you double the number of degrees Celsius or 30 to add an approach to Fahrenheit. Here, double negative 40 degrees Celsius is equal to negative 80 Then add 30 to negative 50 Fahrenheit. Remember that this is an approximation.
The dirt roads in Moosonee had numerous pot holes while we were there. The owner of the bed and breakfast said that when it starts to freeze he washes his truck and it stays clean all winter! Although there is no salt added the roads I did notice the small bridge that had piled dirt on the sides where it was distributed during the winter. Although the summer all the cars were dirty from the dirt roads. The roads are really slippery when they freeze.
Children on the island come to the school board the Polar Express to "freeze" and after "Spring Break Up. "With the river frozen, they ride the school bus. During freezing and breaking of a helicopter is used, the costs picked up by the government. Sometimes, in the lower 48, thinking we find that the weather is bad!

Blue princess / prince Hollies in mostly shade?
Is it ok to plant them where they are in mostly shade? If the leaves are the trees in winter, gets full sun. Thanks!
