Most wood defects affect a board appearance, strength, workability or the ability to take a finish. Sometimes, However, irregularities or abnormalities may actually a piece of wood more desirable, especially when a popular, distinctive figure as the crow flies or Burl produce. Some common herbs defects its controls, bow, cup, twist, crook and split. Keep in mind that these defects can also occur in plates cut close to the pith of a log.
Although almost impossible to buy wood that is completely fault-free, you will increase your chances of getting the best wood for your needs by selecting your wood carefully. Another issue to consider is that you can save some wood defective if you have access to the necessary tools and learn how to use them.
