World of Special Operations Units
The term "Special Operation Units' used to refer to specialized and extensively trained military operation units known highly volatile military operations to perform. These forces are specially trained to participate in unconventional warfare tactics, reconnaissance, and against the very dangerous terrorist activities. The whole world, in different countries, the 'Special Operation Units' also known as' Special Forces "or" special operation forces.
Specialty of special operational units
Special Operational units typically comprise small teams of highly trained soldiers. These units are unique because unlike other military platoons, they work on the principles self-sufficiency, speed, stealth and are highly dependent on teamwork. These elements are what make this special operation units highly desirable for volatile and dangerous missions. The units are usually trained in the use of exclusive and special equipment to assist in arming their equally special operations.
Special operations units are called by the government to go for specialized situations such as terrorist activities and other such dangerous activities, both international and domestic front. In some cases these units are also known as 'force multipliers' when they are used to train indigenous military forces in the specialized techniques of guerrilla warfare.
Historical overview
Special Operations units have an important role in the formation of nations and their respective armies around the world since time immemorial. History has plenty of accounts of the heroic stories of Special Forces around the world who have played part in changing the fate of a major nations. The special operation units are known for their sabotage and surprise hit-and-run ' warfare techniques. They do not enjoy the traditional face-front to fight. Such units function as a single entity during the operation, which is the secret of their success. The History has stories of ancient Chinese and Japanese Ninjas. These were special forces skilled in martial arts, who indulged in espionage and guerrilla warfare specialist.
Special operations units in the World Wars
Many such special operations units were part of the First World War and the Second World War. Italian "Reparti d'assalto" was famous for their shock attack techniques in World War I. In World War II, Winston Churchill was also several specialized UK operation units such as Long-Range Desert Unit, special naval equipment and Air Service, several Raiding Forces, etc.
Special operations units in the 21st Century
In the early 21st century, Special Forces were using by both parties in achieving sub-military operations to win. Examples can be cited from the Vietnam War, the Gulf War, the war in Kosovo, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, etc. The most recent financial statements of the special operation units may be referred to the recent Iraq war, launched by the U.S. fight against terrorism. The specialist force called the "Navy SEALs" were an important part of this operation. Using their techniques Shock and Awe, they defeated the Iraqi forces.
